Feedback from the field on DryerFlex Performance Building Mgmt Company Friends School of West Chester had an exhaust system that had six diffusers and hundreds of feet of that white 4" flex hose made out of vinyl. I attempted to clean the system because they wanted to rip out the 2 exhaust fans and put in an air circulating system with the existing vinyl ducting.
I installed a new dryer last week and, in doing so, purchases a new flex pipe as they say you should never re-use the old one. I now need to make some adjustments to the flooring so need to pull the dryer out fully and to do that, I need to disconnect the flex pipe.

My only concern is if they took the care to supply a 1/2" line and fittings, that it might need that supply of gas to operate.
The dryer vent is a relatively low-pressure output, you have a lot of flexibility to be somewhat creative in finding a solution, and Home Depot should have a variety of clamps and adapters that will help you get it buttoned up. As someone else mentioned, it might be best to just cut and clamp the hose you bought.

For this dryer connection we purchased a brass elbow with a 1/2-in. flare fitting on one side to match the 1/2-in. flare on the copper tubing, and a 3/8-in. iron thread fitting on the other to match the 3/8-in. pipe exiting the back of the dryer.
